Where  can you sell your work??  I know there are many people who weave for themselves and their family, and would also like to sell some of their work, so I thought I'd start a new service for weavers, to give us a showcase for our work, and put you in touch with potential customers.  This service will trial from October 2008 and I hope it will prove helpful to both buyers and sellers.  It is available to anyone, amateur or professional, all over the world, to give you a place to showcase your work, and to take orders from anyone who would like to own an individual piece of handwoven artwork.

HOW THE SHOWCASE WORKS

IT IS FREE TO SHOWCASE YOUR WORK:   All you need to do is to send me a picture of your work, anything from scarves to large rugs, or any other piece of hand weaving.  The picture should be in the form of a small to medium size .jpg file with as good definition as you can manage, and a detailed description of the piece, including size, colours and what fibres have been used to make it (eg: wool, silk, cotton etc).  

 YOU set the price you would like for the piece, or for commissions of similar work.  When setting the price please add 10% to allow for the transaction fee I will be charging to facilitate the sale - ie: if you want £10 for a scarf, please set the price at £11 etc.

The advert will remain on the site until the work sells, or for up to a year without charge.  You may change the description at any time, and may list as many pieces as you like.

 Please also include your name or trading name, location, (country & area) telephone number, and email address, so that the customer can contact you direct for further information.  Once the customer has decided to buy your work, they can have the security of knowing they are paying SECURELY through PAYPAL which takes any credit or debit card, in any currency - via www.julz.org.  

As further customer security, they may return the work within 14 days, for any reason, and receive a full refund.  I think this is fair as they may not have been able to get an accurate idea of the colour or quality of the work from a picture, and knowing that they can return the item to the maker will in fact encourage them to buy in the first place.

However, both customer and seller should note that neither outward or return postage are refundable, unless the seller states that they will refund return postage.

As part of this service, the seller will only be paid by www.julz.org when the sale has been confirmed by the buyer.  You can be paid via a paypal account, or by cheque.
